Yoga and Meditation

Yoga and meditation is a great way to relax and unwind after a day or several days trekking.... or it can be a great way to have fun and a giggle with local people

Yoga or meditation is a great way to relax after a short or long trek.... It helps to stretch aching muscles and relax the body

Louise at Sumatra EcoVentures is a certified yoga teacher since 2014. She is qualified with 200 hours Transformational Yoga Training. After qualifying, Louise has gained teaching experience in England, Cambodia and in Sumatra. 

 

Louise offers two types of yoga sessions; Transformational Yoga Class and Qi Yoga Flow Class, as well as Meditation Classes. Currently there are no classes in any of the guesthouses, but Louise is available for 1-1 or groups sessions. These can be taken if there is space at the guesthouse or she has a place by the river.

Transformational Yoga

​

Experience a deeper type of yoga which combines Hatha asanas, Pranayama breathing, mantras and meditation. Working on our 4 bodies – physical, mental, physic and spiritual to bring about rapid transformation of the mind and body, helping to centre and balance our lives

​

These classes are 1.5 hours long

Qi Yoga Flow

​

A blend of QiGong and Hatha yoga flow to bring awareness and presence through movement and flow. Qi (Chi) is the vital energy that serves all living beings. This practice helps restore the healthy flow of Qi  and promotes health.

Meditation

​

Meditation is practised to achieve mental clarity and bring about calm emotional state. It can help elleviate stress and anger. There are several meditation techinques, depending on what you want to achieve.

 

* Walking Meditation - slow walking with focus is on each step of walkingand movement

* Mindfulness Breathing - whilst sitting focus is on the breath with four stages. Any thoughts to be recognised and focus back to the breath

* Metta Bhavana (Loving-Kindness) - technique to cultivate loving-kindness to all living beings. Five stage to the practice.

These classes are 30 minutes to 1 hour long.
